Basque Government - SPRI

SPRI is the Business Development Agency created by the Basque Government in 1981 to provide support and service to the Basque industrial structure. SPRI is the head of a group of companies that respond to the requirements of a business project from its conception to its implementation.

SPRI activity is oriented towards Basque enterprise and defined based on strategic guidelines shared with the Department of Industry, Tourism and Trade of the Basque Government. These guidelines are oriented towards starting, innovating, growing and internationalising.



Regional Governments

The Regional Governments (Diputaciones Forales) are the executive bodies which, within their competencies, assume responsibility for the government and administration of each province or Historical Territory (Álava, Bizkaia and Gipuzkoa). Each Diputación Foral is headed by its Prime Minister or Diputado General, who is elected by the Juntas Generales (Parliament and legislative body) of each territory. The Diputado General, in turn, chooses the Ministers and members of his Cabinet, who are responsible for the different departments that make up the Regional Government.





Bizkaia Regional Government - Bizkaia Xede

Bizkaia Xede is a non-profit associative initiative promoted by the Employment and Training Department of the Regional Government of Bizkaia, carried out in collaboration with a group of prominent companies and universities located in Bizkaia. Its mission is to create and foster the research, innovation and entrepreneurial layer, thus favouring the necessary conditions to attract, retain and link highly-skilled persons in the innovation and knowledge process.



Network of Technology Parks in the Basque Country

The Basque Country, the pioneering region in the Spanish State in setting-up technology parks, currently holds four such facilities (Bizkaia, Álava, San Sebastián and Mondragón) that make up a coordinated network, forming one of the most consolidated networks in Europe and containing high potential for growth.







BICs

The Business and Innovation Centres provide support (advice, training and premises) for entrepreneurs and companies with the aim of promoting innovative business initiatives and fostering their development.
There are currently 5 BICs spread throughout the three provinces in the Basque Country.
