Integral support service, once the decision to set up has been taken, that facilitates and speeds up the initiation of operations by the company in the Basque Country.

Physical location

The companies received by the Soft Landing Service will be located in one of the parks in the Network of Technology Parks in the Basque Country, in accordance with the requirements of their specific project.

If the characteristics of the project so indicate, the company may be housed in a Business and Innovation Centre (BIC) or business incubator, located in the Technology Parks themselves.

Location in a BIC automatically involves access to the business accompaniment services that each incubator provides, including assistance in drawing up a Business Plan.

Infrastructures

Companies hosted by Basque Soft Landing will be able to take advantage of high quality premises, offices and laboratories to develop their business, centres for business meetings (congresses, videoconferences, meeting rooms), advanced telecommunications infrastructures, a high speed fibre optic network and other company support services provided by the Park of their choice. Moreover, the Basque Country has an excellent network of land communications, plus 3 international airports (enabling connections with the leading European capitals in less than 2 hours) and 2 important sea ports.

Business, scientific-technological and networking environment

Setting up a company through Basque Soft Landing provides support in networking and collaboration activities with the scientific-technological, entrepreneurial and institutional environment.

The Basque Country has a strong scientific-technological structure, articulated through a Network (Basque Science, Technology and Innovation Network) that includes 5 universities, cooperative research centres, technology corporations and the hospitals in the Basque healthcare system.

The Network, which includes the Technology Parks, BICs and Innovation Poles, forms a system that facilitates relations and interactions between its members, by means of which there is a flow of knowledge in the different stages (generation, transfer and application).

This system represents important added value for companies, as they find the most appropriate partners for their activities inside it. The Basque Soft Landing service facilitates knowledge and contact with this network through networking activities (general and/or adapted for specific sectors).

Reception service

This service provides an initial contact with the Basque Country and its customs, as well as practical information to minimise the period of adaptation to the new environment. In order to do this, it can offer:

• Information to displaced persons on looking for housing
• Information on schools for their children
• Information on taking out insurance and opening bank accounts
• Practical local information: Transport, healthcare, leisure, cultural services, etc.
